Here we are, friends, like every year, all the eyes of Watch Enthusiast and the biggest watchmaking media are focused on Geneva. The “small” world of watchmaking is once again in turmoil as Watches and Wonders 2024, the prestigious show dedicated to watchmaking, opens its doors to unveil the latest creations from the most emblematic watchmaking houses such as Omega, Cartier , IWC, Piaget and so on.

Among the most anticipated brands, Fake Rolex is obviously at the top of the list and journalists flock to the crown brand’s stand to get the first Wrist shots of this 2024 grand vintage.

Let’s take stock together on the new Rolex products unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2024.

A New Rolex GMT Master II reference 126710 GRNR

Like every year, Rolex unveils these new watches and this year 2024 seems rather calm, let’s say, without any big surprises. To begin with, we find a new Rolex GMT Master 2 reference with a Cerachrom bidirectional GMT bezel in black and gray ceramic.

The Oystersteel case remains typical of the GMT Master collection with a diameter of 40mm and is available on an Oyster bracelet or also on the famous Jubilee bracelet from Rolex.

Regarding this new GMT watch, like every year, only the colors change here with this new bezel and touches of green to provide a little contrast. We therefore find a completely green GMT hand on this GMT Master 2 reference 126710 GRNR, just like the mention “GMT Master 2” also in green.

For the rest, a simple but effective dial, lacquered black enhanced by indexes applied in SuperLuminova. The date window remains as always at 3 o’clock, like the crown which remains at 3 o’clock on this model, unlike the model presented in 2023 with its famous crown on the left.

On the caliber side, it is still the 3285 movement unveiled by Rolex in 2018 which powers this new iteration of the GMT Master. This automatic movement offers a generous 70-hour power reserve and a quick setting for the GMT hand.

You know Rolex, this watch will soon be available in stores but the waiting list is around 4 to 5 years minimum. This Rolex GMT Master II from 2024 is sold for €11,000.

The New Rolex 1908 in Platinum reference 52506

This is surely one of my favorite new products from Rolex this year, the rest being without much flavor and without “wow” effect for my part.

Last year Rolex presented a completely new collection, the Rolex 1908, which is none other than the logical continuation of the Cellini collection which had been discontinued. We therefore find the codes of a collection of elegant and very traditional dress watches.

Unveiled in 2023 with a white gold or yellow gold case, with a white or matte black dial, Rolex presents this year an even more luxurious version with a platinum case measuring 39mm in diameter.

The vintage look of this piece really makes its strength with its small covered case measuring 39 mm in diameter and only 9.5 mm thick. This fully polished platinum case features a delicious two-tone bezel, smooth and fluted at the same time.

The fluted crown also does not screw down and this Rolex 1908 is water resistant to 50m. We find a magnificently well-crafted ice blue dial which I am a big fan of and with an exceptional guilloche pattern. A small seconds is still present at 6 o’clock as are the applied indexes 3, 9 and 12.

And if you are wondering, the caseback is still in sapphire crystal to offer a view of the Caliber 7140 which has not been changed. This movement has a solid gold rotor, a transverse bridge with Paraflex as well as a Syloxi silicon balance spring and it offers a total of 66 hours of power reserve.

The Rolex Deepsea reference 136668LB for Watches and Wonders 2024

It’s not one of my favorite Rolexes because it’s much too imposing for my wrist, but this new Deepsea has the merit of having a very nice sport chic look.

The latest Rolex Deepsea reference 136668LB sports a 44 mm 18-carat yellow gold case, with an imposing thickness of 17.7 mm and a lug width of 51.8 mm, for a lug width of 22 mm. Its impressive water resistance reaches up to 3990 meters. We find an ultra-thick 5.5 mm sapphire crystal and its automatic helium evacuation valve, as always, placed on the left side of the case.

Personally I love the striking contrast between the yellow gold case, the blue dial and bezel and the RLX Titanium screw-down case back. The whole thing works pretty well.

The dial features thick SuperLuminova indexes for increased readability and as always on this Rolex Deepsea, we find the words “Ring Lock System” and “Original Gas Escape Valve” on the internal ring, on the periphery of the dial.

On the mechanical side, we find the Rolex caliber 3235. Rolex also used this movement for its Submariner and Yacht-Master models but also for certain Datejusts. This chronometer-certified automatic movement is equipped with a Parachrom hairspring and the famous Paraflex shock absorber system. It offers a power reserve of 70 hours which is the minimum for this type of piece.

With its Oyster bracelet also in 18-carat Yellow Gold, this Rolex Deepsea reference 136668LB is available at a price of €54,200 all the same.

The Rolex Day-Dates unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2024

A collection that gets a lot of attention at each Watches and Wonders show, Rolex has unveiled 4 new models of its emblematic Rolex Day-Date presented for the first time in 1956.

We find a magnificent version with a 40mm case in 18-carat Everose Gold which encloses a shaded slate dial. The fluted bezel, as always, provides magnificent light effects. On this dial with a beautiful sunburst finish we can see a delicate transition between clarity, in the center of the dial, and darkness, around the edge. This model features applied Roman numeral indexes. The cyclops glass for the date is always present at 3 p.m. and the day window from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The president bracelet is one of my favorite Rolex bracelets and I think it really enhances this new Rolex Day-Date reference 228235.

We then find other versions which I will not dwell on but which are all just as interesting with for example a reference in white gold which features a magnificent pearly white mother-of-pearl dial with ten baguette-cut diamonds as indexes.

The other two versions have smaller cases of 36mm in diameter, something I am very interested in from Rolex, watches with small diameters, in the old style.

The first 36mm Day-Date remains simple and effective with an 18-carat yellow gold case and bracelet. The dial is white lacquered, and it has applied Roman numeral indexes.
